Recently visited the Brooklyn Center for Performing Arts Center - to listen to a variety of Singers and Choirs. The Acoustics were solid and enjoyable along with backup musicians throughout the Orchestra (as expected) but similarly through the Mezzanine area (not sure about the balcony). Although they often have good shows, we won't go back there again. A couple of the past shows we've gone to, the sound is terrible, and to make up for it they make it really loud. They have these ridiculous lights that they swing around the audience, blinding you. An awful experience.

The Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts is a wonderful asset to the Brooklyn burough of NYC - it is part of Brooklyn College, and although the not the most central location, it is very accessible from many of the major avenues. Not a huge theatre so it's easy to get in and out, and yet draws some very fine... More
