There’s some stalls, there’s some street food, there’s lots of people. The Fort Greene Flea is no better and no worse than most other flea markets.

I can’t give it higher praise (here or in my own head) just because it’s in a trendy part of Brooklyn.

We travelled from Floral Park on the LIRR to get here alighting at Atlantic Terminal. The market was a short walk from here. This market is not to be confused with Brooklyn Flea market which is in Williamsburg. We spent 3 hours meandering around here looking at vintage furniture, clothing and nick knacks. There were several street food stalls and a coffee stall. All very welcomed on a very hot September day. It is such a shame we live in London or else we certainly would have bought more. Highly recommended.

We caught the subway over from
Manhattan and found the market easily after a casual stroll through the leafy streets and brown stones.

The market was smaller than I expected but some excellent stalls with some of the most wonderful vintage dresses I've ever seen. We managed to find some great vintage scores at reasonable prices.

Only downside is that it is particularly hot with limited shade

It is a bit of a shlep from Manhattan but there are some interesting finds from time to time. It's free and there is gorgeous architecture all around. Granted, I haven't always come away with a purchase and it isn't as big as the Williamsburg Flea but if you want to get away from touristy Manhattan this will serve well. Peaceful Fort Greene is a contrast from noisy Manhattan. Relax with the locals.

This Flea was so much smaller than I imagined. As others have said, it's located in a school (?) parking lot so the asphalt is hot (I was there on a sunny 93 degrees Sat. morning). The vendors have a lot of used, old, vintage things as well some (very few) new items (clothing). But searching for vintage items or collectibles as well as refurbished furniture is at it's best. The Sat. that I was there it seemed like there were some empty stalls. Perhaps the heat kept some vendors away.

I did try the Maple Lemonade as suggested by other reviewers and it was super good. Not too sweet. And the home made sugar dusted/maple donuts were yummy.

Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Our family enjoyed shopping at the Fort Greene Flea. There is no cost for entry and there is a good number of vendors selling pretty much everything you can think of. There are clothes, furniture, art, jewelry, vintage toys, arts and craft items, food and drink vendors, etc.

If it is a hot day expect to be warm, the flea is on the asphalt of a school playground. It was a nice day when we were there, but the asphalt made it feel like it was over 90 degrees instead of just 80. Many people brought their dogs and you could see them trying to find shade on the asphalt so that their paws weren't on fire. I would recommend either not bringing your pooch or getting them paw protectors.

We really enjoyed the maple cranberry lemonade and the maple donut that were just $5 combined.

I'm a flea market snob and decided to venture out here on a recent trip to Manhattan. It was a pretty easy ride on the C train and just a few blocks walk through a pleasant neighborhood to find this place. Plenty of vendors, most of whom were friendly and answered questions about their merch. Also some decent food vendors and I totally enjoyed the fresh-made maple lemonade. Didn't find a whole lot to buy other than some vintage glasses but I enjoyed the atmosphere and looking around the various vendors. Will be back when I'm in the area.

The food vendors were good. The biggest donuts you have ever seen. I wish there were more artisan vendors selling things. The vintage stuff was insanely priced. It's a long cab ride from Manhattan. We wandered around the neighborhood and didn't really find anything else cool which was disappointing. I wouldn't can over here again for this market. If I lived in the area I would atop by more often.

A good number of vendors, but quite high prices for a flea market. Not much of a diverse selection of things. There were definitely not 30+ food vendors either.

Get out of Manhattan and the now tired Hells Kitchen and Chelsea markets, the markets in Brooklyn are so much better and the stall holders are fun and know their antiques and homewares.
