Overview
More
Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience (although technically located in Glen Canyon.) The trailhead to this 3/4 mile hike is located just outside of Page, Arizona. It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River, 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon Dam, and 7 miles north of mile zero of the Grand Canyon.

This was a family trip but didn’t include teenagers...I totally was that girl that brought pizza and wings to picnic overlooking Horseshoe Bend and loved every moment of it! The view is spectacular. It is quite a sandy journey and I got sand in my...More

We walked up to the horseshoe bend. It was an easy walk for me. There are no railings at the bend. You must be very careful as it gets very busy at sunset. Worth seeing.

We went here 3 times during our 3-day stay in Page. It is beautiful. Do not overestimate the walk to the view on very hot days. You will need water. There is no charge to visit now but they are planning to have admission fees...More

Was what seemed a bit of a hike to get there from the car park on a scorching hot day, but the view was well worth the walk.

This is not far out of town, so it is very popular. The views are terrific, and different depending on the suns angle. There are pictures on a website if you want to pick the time of day that you like the best. When I...More

This place was beautiful but is treated like it's off the grid when it isn't anymore. The parking lot is a free for all and it's ridiculous. There are no parking lines and much of it isn't paved. It's not going to be safe for...More

This is a beautiful place to visit, but a little scary. I had read somewhere it was a short 1/4 mile walk. Not! Not sure exactly how far, but you walk up and hill and then down quite a ways with a change of elevation...More

It is great place for pictures--well worth the effort to go there! The parking lot to edge is about 15 minutes. However, walking in the sand is a little difficult. Remember to put on sunscreen, it is hot.

This is worth the time to hike to. It took us 1 hour to walk out there, see the view and walk back. I'm sure it could be done faster. Make sure you take water and wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. The sun is...More

3pm is fine. It will be warm and there is a bit of an uphill hike to get to the viewing area. Bring water and wear a hat. Also... THERE IS NO RAILING ON THE EDGE! If you have little explorers keep a close eye on them.

I would allow 2 hours for the Horseshoe Bend. It is 10 minutes walking to the Bend from the parking lot. You also need to walk around the upper rims of the Bend and take pictures. One hour is too rushed to do all this... More

Uber works in page so I would give that a try. No shuttles as far as I know.
