Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience (although technically located in Glen Canyon.) The trailhead to this 3/4 mile hike is located just outside of Page, Arizona. It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River, 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon Dam, and 7 miles north of mile zero of the Grand Canyon.

We made our way to Horseshoe Bend around late afternoon. Crowds were thinning out but still busy. However, there are lots of places there to admire the beauty and take some shots. It is a trek from the parking but not too hard. Go there and soak in this view.

We went during low season and thus it was less crowded. Due to the cold, we were all shivering and can't wait for the sunset to settle fully. Not to mention the cliff edge is a bit risky to climb and stayed for good photos and viewpoint

An easy walk to the spot from the parking, and you don't need to wait for the sunset as the light can flare to your lens. I took some nice pictures after the sunset so the light is easier to control, and you can always edit it. The place is easy to find, right by US-89, and there is a... More

personally i think it is overrated but since its free of charge so its fine. you can pose for few great clicks with the entire horseshoe bend at the backdrop, its easy to reach there with almost no effort as you just need to park and walk for 10 mins and you get this view.

I am sure you will be impressed by the magnificent landscape. However, it is a little dangerous. I am worried if you have children. One step ahead is a cliff.

Just as stunning as you expect. A bit of a walk from the car park but that not a bad thing. It was very busy with folks all clambering for the perfect picture. Selfie stick central. But it does not disappoint. Glad they haven't over commercialised it (thinking of Sedona).

Do not pass this place by. The hike to the overlook is short, but very sandy. Be cautious is you're afraid of heights, but hold someone's hand and approach slowly. You will not be disappointed by the view!

A great stop from town of Page on Route 89 to Grand Canyon. Free no admission charge. Took many pictures. Saw the great river from up above. Awesome experience.

Great view if you're not afraid of heights. There is a short steep climb from the parking lot then evens out after a gentle short walk down to the edge. There are no railings, so watch your children.
