Horseshoe Bend is the intimate Grand Canyon experience (although technically located in Glen Canyon.) The trailhead to this 3/4 mile hike is located just outside of Page, Arizona. It overlooks one of the most spectacular views on the Colorado River, 4 miles south of the Glen Canyon Dam, and 7 miles north of mile zero of the Grand Canyon.

Visited early afternoon. There is a short but steep trek up to the top of the hill you see from the car park, this is is fairly deep sand so not easy. But then there is a long downhill walk mainly on fairly smooth rock. Great views over the Colorado, no rails or ropes, look where you are going, don't... More

We were very surprised at the amount of people at Horseshoe Bend. While it is quite beautiful, I'm not sure it's worth the uphill hike with no shade. The large crowd made it difficult to get a good view.

We went here for our daughters wedding. I thought she was crazy but after we got there it couldn't have been better. The hike is note worthy-if you aren't in pretty good shape you can't make it back up the hill. Be careful and be safe. It is worth every effort you put in to get there.

Loved this area. Stunning view. Dusty uphill walk. Windy due to canyons & evaluation. Free parking. Wear hat & take water. Correct footwear. Not flip flops. Otherwise could have a bad fall or accident. Must see! Ashley Serrano Ft. Worth, TX

Everyone wants to see Horseshoe Bend so it does get very busy, if you can get a view it is worth it. Lots of people being very silly with where they are standing to get shots - no railings and sometimes there is nothing under that ledge and it could collapse at any time (notices up but people still ignored... Loved this. Refrained from going for the iconic sunrise shot but went mid-morning before it got too hot. Easy walk to the edge and was real easy to spend some time taking photos and walking around the edge. Fantastic!!

We visited in the early morning, before our canyon tour. It was beautiful. A walk down to the bend is required, and the was back to the parking lot is steep - but worth it. You must be careful near the bend - no guard rails. A really impressive view!

Go before sunset! Shooting Tip: The sun is behind you during sunset. You will find difficulties to take a good picture. Bring selfies and take picture up over yourself. Spare at least 1.5 hours. Be careful and don't fall over the cliff.
