My husband and I visited the Weatherspoon while we were spending time in Greensboro with family. What a great little treasure! There were two displays of Matisse drawings that were so wonderful and interesting. The museum has great lighting, is so quiet and pleasant. We nearly had the whole place to ourselves.

Weatherspoon is part of the UNCG campus. Since it is part of the campus it is free to the public and often has "big name" exhibits. Parking can be questionable at times unless it is the weekend.

The visit to The Weatherspoon Art Museum was a real treat. We engaged in a 4 part series of self-taught artists spanning over different dates. A reception, tour and film were part of each series. The museum is on the outer perimeter of the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Parking in the lot requires a pass and you must enter the... More

If you're looking for a museum that's small and easy to navigate, and not too difficult to find parking, here's your place.

Many locals do not know what a great art venue they have in the Weatherspoon gallery! The featured displays change regularly and local artists are included in this accessible art forum. The space is not huge, so you can spend some time looking and don't have to miss anything.

First time here at Weatherspoon art museum. And will have to say should've visited sooner. Quite a few interesting art pieces and paintings. Enjoyed the quick visit will have to return at some point and look at the remaining areas that I missed

Enjoyed the Found Objects exhibit, especially "Ten things that were run over" and liked the self taught artist exhibit. Bill Traylor's vivid animals were interesting, and the bios of all the self taught artists were inspiring.

We didn't realize they would have such a variety of art. We saw some great folk art on this trip. I loved the memory boxes - busted voices and sound coming form wooden boxes - how many times have you wanted to save a sound or someone's voice forever - nostalgia in a box. Perfect! A must see every time... More
