Nice place to visit if you are a good walker. We saw a giant turtle covered with mud crossing the path. Lots of runners and lots of dogs with their owners. Overall a nice nature path .

Visited here recently with my wife & her son. Being a history buff and being from a part of the U.S. that doesn't have many battle sites, I enjoyed this park. I like recreating in my mind what the battle scene must have been like...More

Just got your question. Hope this answer isn't too late. I spent about 30 minutes there since I teach US History and the staff was overly accommodating to me. There is a brief film and the outside buildings.

There are no picnic areas in the battlefield park out if respect. What the others here are referring to is called Country Park which is right next to the battlefield. There are short trails between them.

You can call 336-525-3009 and it will start the tour. It also sends you a link to the web site that was a little easier to use.
