We went on the boat ride while visiting the Zhouzhuang Water Village. There were 6 of our in our party and the oarsman sang for us, which was terrific. The ride was wonderful and we got to see much more of the village than if we had just walked around it. The scenery was just lovely. The locals visiting the... More

Let me preface this with the fact that I've been to Venice and gone on a Gondola ride. This is both similar and not at the same time. The boats contained four passengers each which was perfect for our party. In addition, there were covers on the boat, which was a nice change from Venice. The fact that Suzhou's canals... More

The boat ride is very enjoyable. We paid for the entire boat since we had a family of 5. We also paid 30 yuan for the lady to sing. She explained what each song meant in Chinese. The meaning is very beautiful! She also took pictures of us. This gave me an opportunity to take photos that I would not... More

If you happen to be in Zhouzhuang ancient town, you have to take the boat ride, otherwise why on earth do you come to Zhouzhuang? Hahaha... So before we have this gondolas in Venice, Marco Polo visited Zhouzhuang in the past. The way they keep their boat as it was in the past will give you a nostalgic feel. Don't... More

You get a different perspective when you are on the boat. The trees over your head and the tourists looking at you from the banks. The lady rowing the boat will ask you to pay to hear her sing. If you decline, she will not introduce the sights along the trip. Per boat is RMB120 and sits maximum of 6... More

The boat ride is definitely worth the money. Great way to see the town, it's very peaceful and relaxing. For a small tip the lady will also sing which adds to the atmosphere.

There are 4 different boat rides. Ancient Town Water Lane, Shen Wansan Wealth Trip, Around Town Water Tour and Jiangnan Trip of Pearl Searching. All are great boating and they will sing along while they roll.... And explaining all the bridges details. Would recommend the Ancient Town Water Lane 120RMB for 6 paxs or Shen Wansan Wealth Trip 220RMB for... More

The boat ride on the canal is a great way to see the perimeter of the city. Just like the gondola rides of Venice. Be sure to request a song for a small tip.

Your trip to this town is incomplete without a boat ride, at 120 RMB you can book a boat for 20 minutes, can take upto 6 people, so depending on how many people you are you might want to look for someone to share the ride if you think its too expensive. The ride gives you good opportunity to look... More
