With so much history behind the Gol Gumbaz, it is a must see for history buffs. The architecture is awesome. However the upkeep is not upto mark. The entrance fee is nominal & needs to be increased for getting revenue to maintain the monument. The architecture & the intricacies (echo, coin sticking, etc) keeps one glued. Once again pl take... It is essential that you climb up to the whispering gallery. There are seven flights and our guide was very keen that we paused at each level to avoid heart attacks! The gallery is huge and the guards made people be quiet so we could hear our guide at the other side

the monument is very impressing, and worthwhile visiting, but the crowd and the noisiness, did not allow us to enjoy this place. climbing up in the dark minaret with the swirling uneven stairs peeping your way, beeing pushed by people screaming, is more than annoying, and when you reach the top at he acccoustic corner all people are shouting and... Compared to other places in the vicinity (like Badami), this is recent (only some 3 centuries old), a burial place and a mosque, along with a whispering dome. The architecture is nice, but the place is maintained very poorly. The walls and floor are dirty, with lots of graffiti. Note that to go to the whispering gallery, one needs to... More

This building has a magnificent dome, and there are pleasant gardens and a nice little museum adjacent.

Hi, This is a ancient monument with amazing architecture. One must go early in the morning to avoid crowd. Guides are available but cost is too much. I have paid Rs.1,000/- as guide charges. If you go after 8 am you will not know the real magic of echo sound. But altogether it is a great experience. Regards, V.V.JOGLEKAR
