Karla is around 25 minutes from Lonavala, off old Pune highway. There is a parking from which one had to take 180 stairs to reach the top. Vendors are there throught and most portions of stairs was covered with trees/ cloth. We climbed at 11:00, but wasn't that tiring. Cave and temple are very good. One must try fresh chaas... More

No doubt all these caves are part of our history, so all these are must see place around Pune. Since we were in a group we enjoyed a lot.

It is such an amazing place with having an marvelous view. Such a great architecture with all stone work. Having a temple which is also very famous. The place is decent and having a lot to see.

Karla cave is a group of 16 consecutive. The main cave has an stupa located in the center with pillars. Making it a room for chanting. To reach the cave you can ride your car uphill or take an auto from the base. From the car park it is in a little height and can be reached via 150 flight... More

Caves that are 2200 years old. One can see monk chambers with rock beds and a large convention hall like structure which could have probably used to deliver sermons by monks. The structure is lined up by wooden arcs which also date to 200 century BC. It's a 15 minute climb from the parking.

Visited many years ago when we were living in Mumbay. An exemple with other buddhist excavations nearby of the buddhist monks way of life 2000 years ago. Located close to Lonavala, on Pune Mumbai highway, is this place. There is a temple and caves on the top of the hill. One needs to climb a lot but its worth the climb. The Devi temple is considered very powerful and attracts devotees from far places as well. There are food stalls and small restaurants on the top. Also... More

there were so many shops selling the sweet made in milk, all of loved that sweet and this place has lot of steps.. but you can try to visit once.
