Great stop after the races!
Aug 2018 • Couples
This is a great place to stop by before, during or after the races! The market has great local produce and foods. There are several restaurants with local specialties. Souvenirs shops with gifts to take home to share with others or mark the occasion for yourself

Good to stop by after Horse Race
Jun 2016 • Family
If you are stopping by to check out Horse Race, this place gives you a little more boost to the fun. (or vise-versa). You get to see quite various local products both good for the family or for the gift.

Nice place for lunch and seeing working horses
Jul 2013 • Family
We stopped by on our way back to Sapporo. Our tour guide arranged an enjoyable black pork (kurobuta) lunch here. The pork was a little fatty but the meat was flavourful and the accompanying onion salad was also very good. Thereafter, we proceeded to the horse shed nearby, where we got to see these enormous working horses that weighed over a tonne! For a small fee (can’t remember exactly) you can purchase carrot sticks to feed these horses. The village itself has some shops as well, but mostly for groceries and stuff. I think this place makes for a good lunch stop, other than that there isn’t much left to do.
