The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library-Museum, is one of thirteen such museums in the country, located in the Herbert Hoover National Park. HHNP is one of two National Parks in the state of Iowa. A beautiful and eye opening glimpse into the life and times of Bert and Lou Hoover. Also the museum has rotating special exhibits through the year. Conveniently... More

West Branch is a very small town, but was the birthplace of President Herbert Hoover. The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum is very well done, very attractive, and very interesting. The visitor follows Hoover from his birth in West Branch to his death. What an interesting person, such a remarkable life! The only history of Herbert Hoover most are... More

This was our 10th Presidential Museum visit and it was one of the best. We liked that the story began with Hoover as a boy and progressed through his whole life demonstrating the trials and hardships that made him great. The story paid particular attention to the herculean effort put forth by Hoover after WW II to help put Europe... More

The presidential library has exhibits and videos of all periods of Hoover's life. The other visitor center has a video and exhibits almost entirely on Hoover's early life in West Branch. The library and museum reveal heroic aspects of his life - organizing the feeding of starving millions in Europe at the end of WWI and end of WWII. Also... More

This site is absolutely worth the stop. Just a few feet from the interstate, the site has a visitor center as well as Hoover's first home and his father's blacksmith cottage. His first school and church. A short walk away is the jewel which is the Presidential Library. We learned so much about HH that we did not know. He... More

Learned so much more about President Hoover than I had learned in school. Thoughtful displays tell his story from youngster to an elder statesman. Great American.

Located just off of I80, the Hoover Presidential Library and Museum are well worth your time. We enjoyed the museum and learned very much about Pres. Herbert Hoover. For seniors the cost is only $5. Try to catch the 20 min. film in the auditorium for a nice overview of his life.

We have been here several times for their revolving main exhibit, which this time featured the famous Route 66 from Chicago to L.A. The Route 66 exhibit I felt was a little too sparse for it's significance to Americana, but I do like the fact that the Museum does change their main exhibit ever couple of months. An easy detour...
