Beautiful and very accessible to the people

We took a small tour leading to the observation deck and were very impressed by how accessible this capital is to the people. It has very neat views of the lakes. Very nice tour.

Inside is beautiful. You can go upstairs and see Madison from the terrace. You also can have a view of the lake.

Very festive market place surrounded the state capital. Farmers market was very crowded but lots of cultural and things to see and do.

The Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison is one of the most beautiful in the country.....during the day or @ night. During the Christmas holiday, a magnificent tree adorns the rotunda. During the spring, summer or fall, the Capitol grounds are host to an expansive farmer's market on Saturday mornings.

Ironically the Wisconsin dome, though smaller in volume is actually taller. This is a truly gorgeous building. If you are a resident of Wisconsin and have never been... More

We hadn't been there in more than 10 years. We didn't know there is an observation area on the roof. Don't go when school trips could be happening. Too much flatulence in the air and noisy kids screaming.

Although we did not tour the building, we did visit at night on a gorgeous evening and the building just added to the atmosphere.

Being a public building this means anyone can go inside. The place is immaculately clean. We were told the marble, which quite literally covers the place, came form different counties and places including Greece, Italy and France. There is also a liberty bell inside, as seen on the film National Treasure. The building is still used with court sessions taking... More

Very comfortable to walk around, accessible, clean, easy-to-find bathrooms, gracious tour guides. Not too far from the municipal parking garages, remember to pay your fees or the parking police will nail you. Instantly. Go to the framers market around the capitol on Saturday mornings in the summer for one of the best farmers markets in the country. Allow at leat... More
