Always a fun place to take the kids

We loved taking our kids to our old university haunts! The campus is just as gorgeous as we remember.

Very impressive university in a nice city, but the scale of it pretty overwhelming and the stretch and scatter of facilities prevents a cohesive campus feel. Still, much of it enjoys lovely proximity to the lake, and the city would be but a dot on the map were it not for the economic juggernaut that is UW.

Excellent historical buildings with great views over the water. Several paths and walkways throughout the campus. One walkway is along the lake and accessible just west of the Student Union. This is also a great walk up to and around the Observatory. The campus is at the opposite end of the State Capitol. State Street is the connecting street. I... More

We visited this campus just as students were arriving for fall semester. It was bustling, but classes had not started. We had the best of all times. The temperatures were in the low 70's. We strolled on several paths and walkways. One walkway was along the lake and accessible just west of the Student Union. We also walked on The... More

This is an awesome campus. Beautiful layout! I have been here for a couple Wisconsin state wrestling championships. Great place for this event.

The University is basically surrounded by a great lake. Many of the buildings has a good view for it. there is a path alongside the lake where you can cycle and walk. Great place to work out.

Sitting along the shores of Lake Mendota, the University of wisconsin campus is very special. The heart of the campus is Bascom Hill and you should walk up the steep hill to Bascom HAll and look back down and you can see all the way to the Capital. Also stop by the Terrace behind the Memorial Union and if the... More

UW is a Big Ten (12) school. The campus is spread along the shore of Lake Mendota, making it one of the most beautiful locations for an institution of higher learning.
