Strongly recommend to art lovers if you want a museum experience during your trip here. Smattering of many major European masters from multiple centuries and we greatly enjoyed featured special exhibit re contemporary Japanese ceramics. Beautiful building and cafe food excellent

A nice, quiet way to while away a few hours (it would be particularly good if it's raining--always a risk on a trip to New Orleans, although we were fortunate on this trip to have incredible weather; plan your visit to New Orleans in March-April...More

Always something unexpected at NOMA. Very interesting fashion display and loved the Carlos Rolon Puerto Rican artwork. Definitely visit the outdoor sculpture garden as well.

This was the perfect place during a rainy day. The collection is quite nice. Not a lot of famous pieces, but many pieces by well-known artists that you likely have never seen in books. The cafe is very pleasant, if over burdened on a rainy...More

This museum houses a small collection, but has names you will recognize: Picasso, Warhol, Calder. There is a nice collection of Renaissance art and the special exhibit on Archetypes of women was exceptional.

It's a standard museum. Nothing bad just nothing that set it apart from others I've been to. It does seem to be undertaking an expansion of some sort so I'm sure it will continue to improve.

The Art Museum is good for 4 stars but the sculpture a definite 5. Excellent modern sculpture from a variety of artists as well as disciplines. Paintings are a mix of traditional through to contemporary. The impressionists and surrealists were particularly inspiring.

Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to do this museum justice so instead went for a wander through the Sculpture Gardens....fantastic, reminded us of the Vigeland Gardens in Oslo. Definitely worth a visit and very handy access via the Streetcars.

We went to City Park specifically to see the Besthoff Sculpture Garden at NOMA. The collection is impressive and well worth the effort, and it's beautifully set. Since we were there, we went inside and enjoyed two current exhibits: The Goddess Within [it was a...More
