Nice Casino (stayed at Hilton across street)

Harrah's in New Orleans is as good as it gets for non-Vegas casinos. It is centrally located, easy to find , and SMOKE-FREE inside, but does have a covered patio smoking , game area. The buffet is great. Lots to choose from. There are hundreds of slot machines and almost every type of table game available. And best of all………... More

If you're going to go drop some money this is one of the most comfortable places to do it that I've been. Not a big gambler, but it rained one day in our recent stay and the wife likes to play Black Jack :) Was comfortable sitting at a slot losing $50 a nickel at a time while the wife... More

We stayed at the Hilton across the street and ventured over to Harrah's. Very nice casino (actually didn't smell like smoke). Centrally located to riverwalk and a short walk to downtown activities. Would visit again if ever in NOLA another time.

Visited the Casino Mar 17 thru 20th and enjoyed many hours of gaming as well as all of our favorite places in New Orleans. It was a great weekend and enjoyed our friends and the area.

A friend directed me to the 3 card poker table. The dealer was a nice guy and helpful. I quickly won $50 and left. And that was after tip. I wanted to go back, but my wife nagged me out.

Decent casino...played a little. It was right by our hotel which made it easy access. This is no Vegas, BUT still a decent and good casino

The hotel is actually across the street from the casino. Both facilities were nice, and the staffs of both were friendly, and helpful. Would, and probably will, go back there again.

Can't think of another casino that allows you to order cocktails from your slotmachine!! Get with the program Las Vegas and all the Indian Tribe casinos.

My wife made me go ... I lost and she won. On the first visit. On the second visit we both lost, but not too much. The casino is clean, large and lots of machines to choose from. The multiple entrances/exits were a little confusing. If they have signs at the doors telling you what street you are exiting onto... More

I really enjoy playing a few $$$$ when in New Orleans. I usually win a little money playing blackjack and/or break-even. I'm not one to gamble all my hard earn $$$$ away. Drink are good too.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
