Nice area to walk along the river but dont make eye contact or stop to speak to some unsavoury people. Fine during the day.

The stroll along the Mississippi is so enriched by the beautiful holocaust memorial and tribute to the many immigrant groups who made and make New Orleans great. Lovely!

We visited during the day. Really enjoyed the area. We saw some possibility unsavory people milling around. We were not bothered or approached by anyone while in the Woldenberg Riverfront Park. We did not venture out in this area at night though.

This is a great place to take a break in the French Quarter. You can have a picnic while watching the ships on the Mississippi River.

I ride my bike here almost every day it is a cool lake and a good place to ride to but that is it.It is a busy road with some green on both sides.People park their cars and just sit next to them i really don't get it.

Just a remarkable piece of art and memorial. How this artist did this is amazing. You walk around this exhibit to see it change to a representation of Jewish historical emotions. Right on the river, where you will be many times during your visit so take a few minutes to view this magic.

We came across this park just walking along the Mississippi back to our hotel. It is a great little park for people and river watching. You can watch the paddle boats go by as well as the cruise ships and cargo ships. There are musicians playing and people coming and going from a multiple of nearby attractions. Just sit and... More

While checking out New Orleans after our Caribbean cruise, we strolled in the park as we traveled to Cafe du Monde. The street people were very nice and none of them asked for money. I did have one street person complain that the guy next to him was snoring. I suggested that he nudge him and ask him politely to... More

long pleasant walks with shaded seating, people watching, river paddle boats with steam organ music , ocean going cruise ships floating by the spedidly varied river front buildings, educational , shopping and historic.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
