We had a very enjoyable evening here as a coach party of about 20 UK tourists on Sunday 20th Nov 2016. The food was excellent, tasty and in European portion sizes (not US Supersize) and . . .WITH VEGETABLES that were cooked to a T (steamed broccoli, I recall). I think the owners are ex-pat English. The music was very... More

Let me start by saying the music is wonderful and makes his place a must visit for any jazz enthusiest. We has the pleasure of hearing a 6 piece band. They were lively and clearly enjoying playing. They play a long set before taking a break. The food was average at best. I had jambalaya that had a nice flavor,... More

This is one of the rare place downtown where they aim at preserving excellent NOLA traditional jazz .We were there on wednesday night where we had the honour to see Mr Gregory Stafford on stage. The staff of this restaurant are very kind .This is another place not to miss in New Orleans.

On a war, muggy New Orleans evening, we reserved a table at this venerable establishment. We ordered appetizers and dinner. The food was very good, New Orleans classics. The service was congenial and efficient. The real star of the evening was the music! The jazz ensemble was terrific. They played authentic New Orleans favorites. They seemed to truly enjoy making... We had heard good things and read reviews but left feeling disappointed. The food was okay, pleasant but not quite value for money; the service was excellent and the music terrific. Disappointment came with the bill. We knew we would pay for the music which was ironic as the music was what prompted us to eat there but to be... More

We decided to do dinner at the Palm Court on a Saturday evening and were very pleased with our decision. The classic New Orleans Jazz music was great and the food equally enjoyable. We had the Jambalaya and the Chicken Ambrosia. Our waitress, Tiffany, was most attentive and responsive to our requests. We definitely will return here on our next... More

What an amazing experience! The service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the Jazz was such an enjoyable backdrop. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for that quintessential NOLA experience.

The food was average but the music and atmosphere was wonderful. We sat for nearly 3 hours of food and music. The owner is a quirky little lady who just added to the ambiance. Never felt rushed to leave and our waitress kept bringing tea, water and drinks. Be prepared - they do add a music fee on the table.... More

Great atmosphere but food sadly very disappointing. Ordered the local speciality, Jambalaya which was simply disgusting. It tasted as though it'd been cooked in swamp water from an artesian well! Our waiter didn't ask whether anything was wrong when collecting a full uneaten plate of food, but just commented that we must have eaten a large lunch.Oh well, you win some,... More

We were in America for a 2 week holiday, and Palm was the only place that added a tip to the bill. Unfortunately, this is a pet irritation - it's not a tip if it's on the bill, it's a hidden charge! I have no problem tipping, and happy to tip well if the service is good - but it... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
