Kids had a ball!

We love parks and reading but were really disappointed with our visit. After our flight we wanted the kids to play for a bit before our road trip to our final destination. It barely held my kids' interest for 15-20 minutes and we had to pay $4 a person to get in. It is basically just a path with statues... More

It's always fun for our kids to find a great play place in a city that's new to them. Our children, 8 & 10, had a blast running around in Storyland, burning off energy as they popped in and out of the rocketship, climbed on the mushrooms, went up and down the slides and played with other kids. Several nursery... More

We were in New Orleans with our children aged 1 and 8. It took my son 30 minutes to finish the park because it's a small pArk. I think it's perfect for children aged 2-6. We planned a longer trip so when we were done, we just took them to the playground in the same area. Great photo ops with... More

Storyland is hilariously lame, yet I recommend it. I have a 3 yr old. It was perfect entertainment for her. She was young enough to not realize it was lame and old enough to get excited by the three little pigs and the big bad wolf. If you think of it as an amusement park, you'll be disappointed. If you... Looking for something to do for a few hours, we headed to Storyland after reading about it and experiencing a similar concept at Idlewilde in Pennsylvania. My daughter was really too old for the exhibit. We checked it out, but the slides are in rough shape and she passed on them. While cute, it is really aimed for younger kids,... More

We brought our kids (ages 6-12) to play at Storyland. They were all very excited, even the 12 year old... for the first 30 minutes. It didn't help that it overlooks an amusement park. The park is big enough that the kids can lose their parents, but small enough that parents can't lose their children. They do have plastic sculptures... More

We've been here numerous times over the years and my daughter loves this place. It's a great place to spend a few hours. It has characters from all the famous nursery rhymes (3 Little Pigs, Mother Goose, Humpty Dumpty, etc).

Storyland is a fun time for kids of all ages. It just works. So glad it has reopened & is maintained. Was closed for many years due to vandals. Check out Monstro the whale - he's been there a very long time & see if there's a puppet show.

This attraction is especially geared to younger visitors. They can climb into Cinderella's coach, or up a giant spider web, and run up and down Jack and Jill's hill. It's the perfect place to spend some time and energy - and very little money - if you are travelling with young children. Note: there is also an amusement park complete... More

When traveling to New Orleans with our 4 young children, I found this place, I didn't research it much or read reviews. I just seen some pictures and it looked neat. It was $4 a person to get in, including adults. My children are 10, 9, 7, and 6. I knew the older 2 might not be thrilled with it,... More

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
