When visiting New Orleans be sure and visit the French Market just off the River Walk. This is a great place for all ages to enjoy along with a clear view of the Mississippi River.

This is the place to wander around. There are two parts to this market. One is the food vendors and the other is an upscale flea market. Great for presents etc.

Alot of junk from China but there's a used book stall that has a fantastic selection...no Harlequins here. Also a couple of crafters that make beautiful handmade jewelery at reasonable prices.

It is a nice little farmer's market. You can get frozen cocktails, oysters on the half shell and a trinket to take home with you.

I was looking for something for my daughter to take home as gift. Found it at the French Market. A little bit of almost everything can be found here. Lots of nice photography prints.

The French market basically has lots of vendors selling unique and/ or junk. Prices can be lower here that some of the stores in the quarter. I was not very impressed. I enjoyed exploring the market but not my scene.

So, a former resident told me that during the summer the market is actually full of fresh food, but in February, it was full of t-shirts and tourist kitsch. When I think of "markets" in other cities (D.C. Philly, Seattle) they have tourist stuff too...More

Jewelry, t-shirts, and the like are to be had here at fair prices. If you are smart, you will bargain the prices down. If you are reasonable, they will reward you with a great deal. Be sure to stop at the Organic Banana inside the...More

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great
story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs

around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the
