My girlfriend and I booked this tour and also The Voodoo Bone Lady (Rated #2). This was miles ahead of Bone Lady. Loki, our guide, knew everything there was to know about N.O. and was captivating in the historical stories he told. The group was small - about 8 people - compared to Bone Lady which was closer to 20+.... More

My wife and I participated in the history tour of the French Quarter and were fortunate enough to secure Loki as our guide. We decided to use Strange True Tours because of their smaller tour size, and lucked out as it was only the two of us in the tour. Loki was passionate from the start and you could tell... More

When you come to a city as steeped in history as New Orleans, there is absolutely no excuse for not indulging in its rich and vibrant history; unfortunately, like many a city of this size and background, you can find a lot of very tourist-y tours. You know the kind. This is absolutely the anathema to that. You will not... More

My wife and I booked a ghost walking tour with Loki. We were the only two, so we lucked out with a private tour. Loki has a very interesting and amazing connection with the city of New Orleans. His tour was entertaining and very interesting. Highly recommend this tour for anybody visiting New Orleans.

A group of friends and I booked "The Ghost Tour" for our trip to Nola last weekend. We honestly weren't expecting much, thought it might even be a tad bit ridiculous, but we decided to do despite our doubts! We were so lucky to get Loki as our tour guide and he was incredible. He made the two hour tour... More

Loki was our tour guide and he was full of funny and informative information. We booked this tour on our first day to give us insights on the city and that's what the tour did with the fun flare and great history information. It was even better because we had Loki all to ourselves. The tour ended up being just... More

Jeffrey was wonderful! He navigated me through New Orleans public transit when I was lost so I could arrive on time. I am a senior who is mobility-impaired and he adapted the tour to accommodate those of us "stragglers." His depth of knowledge is amazing. You will learn so much about history that will never be in the mainstream media.

I am a New Orleans native and I have been following the Kennedy assassination for many years. I attended the Oswald conference last weekend and last year. As a former history teacher and lawyer, I have always felt certain that Oswald was not a lone assassin. From Mark Lane's book to the many new books, I have been an avid... More

My girlfriend and I booked the Garden District tour. We were supposed to meet our guide at a Starbucks at 10 am. Around 9:30 am, we received a text from our tour guide. However, 10 am came and no sign or word of our guide. Over the next 15-20 minutes, we repeatedly called Strange True Tours and they tried to... More

Jeffrey's Lee Harvey Oswald tour was awesome. He made a point of keeping the pace of the tour comfortable and the narration clear, objective and fascinating. I was amazed at how close seemingly unrelated location actually are and how they tie together. Well worth taking for those who love history.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
