Tour guide was knowledgeable. Saw many alligators, some turtles, raccoons and a snake . Not at all buggy, so bug repellent not needed. Only complaint was that we were in hotel lobby waiting for about 10 min when driver arrived, beeped horn once and started to immediately drive off. One of the members of our party had to chase him down!... More

We are so happy we booked this tour! We used a hotel pickup because we don't rent a car when visiting New Orleans. Bus was right on time and the drive Raquitta(sp) was friendly and fun. Checkin line was a bit long but fast. Staff was super friendly. Our boat captain was Jules, he was hilarious. The tour itself was... More

We booked through our hotel's concierge. Cajun Encounters picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off again. Great system for tourists without motor transportation. We had Captain Ryan as our boat driver/tour guide. He was phenomenal. He got up close to the wildlife that the swamp has to offer (safely). He was very funny and entertaining. I told... More

We loved our tour with Cajun Encounters. Trevor, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and fun. We saw (up super close!) numerous alligators, wild boars, herons, snakes, and spiders. What a fun day - it was one of our favorite outings on this trip.

We did two tours with Canjun Encounters. We enjoyed both of them. The Swamp tour was interesting and saw alligators, pigs, turtles and birds. Well organised. The 2 Plantation tour was well organised and worthwhile. Laura and Oak Alley plantations we visited. Was interesting to see both as they are different.

I never would have gone on this tour, but my friend wanted to, so I went along. We had so much fun! We saw an egret, a great blue heron with a huge fish, wild pigs (even the babies), and lots of gators. I still can't believe how beautiful a swamp can be. Our guide, Capt Bishop was pretty funny,... We did a 9.30am drive out Honey Island swamp tour on our way from Mobile, AL to New Orleans. Would recommend to book in advance. The joining instructions were very clear and the place was easy to find. We registered at reception when we arrived and were given a coloured armband. It it quite commercialized and gets busy with several... More

This was a great tour for beginners! The bus picked us up at the hotel right on time. We gathered other people before heading off to the swamp. The ride was about 40+ mins but was a nice drive. The driver told us things the whole way to the swamp. We arrived and stood in line to get checked in.... More

We took the swamp tour and the city tour on 2 different days. We had taken a swamp tour on our first visit to NOLA with a different company. There was no comparison to what the Cajun encounters tour offered. This was so much fun with a really experienced and knowledgeable guide. You can tell he enjoys what he does.... More

We did a ton of research between Cajun Encounters and an airboat tour. First, you have to know that this is a commercial tourist thing. Yes, you will be put on a flat bottom boat with at least 20 other people. It will likely be hot and humid. The boats still travel fast at times and you may get splashed... More
