Went to see Dolly, sitting in the 100 level on the side of the stage. Not only was there no big screen, making it impossible to see her at all, the sound was muffled and uneven - and since she was doing a lot of storytelling, this was beyond frustrating. Never again - a big waste of $130. Add in... More

We were able to watch an NBA game here really cheap, like $6 per ticket! The arena is nice and people were really friendly. The upper deck had a decent view as well.

This is a neat smaller venue. Every staff member we came in contact with was so friendly, with one lady giving high ✋🏼 after the Pelicans win while we were leaving. The BBQ nachos were wonderful.

I had the opportunity to watch NOLA vs Golden State Warriors. The stadium is really nice. Many choices for food and beverages, nice views.... BUT the air conditioner was FREEZING. I could not pay attention to the game due to the low temperature inside the arena. If you go take a very hot jacket and a scarf with you.

Was here for the WWE Hall of Fame and an episode of Monday Night Raw. Had no issues here at all, including taking my camera in which I had on me that day, filming touristy stuff.

I had meet & greet, backstage experience, for Keith Urban, that I won as part of a package deal, from my local radio station. I was told my tickets, passes, and instructions where to go for meet & greet and backstage experience, would be included at will call. They told me they had nothing for me. I showed them my... More

Easy parking, friendly staff, excellent choices of concession, and great facility! We were in nosebleed section, and still had fantastic "close-up" feel at Keith Urban concert!

Wet recently for a concert. Great venue, with good organization by the staff on getting you into the center. Parking is pretty close in a garage. While a good venue, the acoustics are frankly terrible. Songs I knew I could not discern the words. Not sure I would see something here, again. Happened to be in town on business, and... More

My husband and I just attended the Def Leppard/REO Speedwagon/Tesla concert this past weekend at the Smoothie King Center. It was our first time to attend anything there. The facility was very clean, staff helpful and accommodating. We will definitely add this to our list of favorite concert venues! Plus Def Leppard ROCKED!!!

This was my first visit to New Orleans and the Smoothie King. It was fairly easy to find parking if you don't mind paying $20 but it was only a short walk from the garage to the security checkpoint. The police were highly visible with even some on bicycle. The venue has the usual event food with some craft type... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
