President Carter teaches Sunday School

We didn't attend but wanted to mention that President Carter regularly teaches Sunday School here. You can check his schedule while at either the State or NP Visitors Center.

We did not attend church here because we were passing through on a Monday - just took photos. Jimmy Carter still teaches Sunday School at this church.

I am not a churchgoer, yet being in this church was a truly special experience. Sunday School taught by Jimmy Carter was incredibly healing in these difficult political times. He has such a calm, wise presence that stayed with me for a long time. The church itself is small, but its congregation was active and welcoming to visitors. Miss Jan... More

Attending Sunday School when Jimmy Carter is teaching was one of the great experiences of my life. You must arrive about 7:00 a.m. and receive a number. If you're in the first 70 carloads or so, you will likely (no promises) get into the sanctuary, and if not, you will probably get into the overflow auditorium. On Presidents Day weekend,... More

Check their web site for days when President Carter is teaching Sunday School. Get up early (be there by 7am) and go. It's a unique experience and you'll get a good SS lesson. Stay for the worship service and get your photo taken with President and Mrs. Carter. On days when he's not teaching, they only have about 35 attending.... More

Be sure to check the web site for information, and arrive early (7 a.m.) in order to be assured a place in the sanctuary. If you do get into the overflow room (Fellowship Hall), President Carter will come through and speak to you before he heads into the sanctuary, and then you can watch everything in the sanctuary on a... President Jimmy Carter frequently still teaches Sunday School here. He is an amazing man and a wonderful human being! His memory is unbelievable at age 92! This is an experience you will not regret. I took my 9 and 12 year old grandsons!

Everything about our church visit was wonderful! It is a well oiled machine and you need to be there no later than 7:30 to guarantee your seat. You are admitted to the church in the number in which you arrived so listen for your number when George greets your car. At 9 AM you are gives directions for what to... More

We picked up a passport book at the High School Museum and headed out to town to collect our passport stamps, hoping to get the medallion at the end of the day. President Carter teaches Sunday School here and serves as Deacon, giving talks as well. It is also a photo opportunity. We were there on a Thursday, so the... More
