We were both 100% beginner snowboarders, had no idea how to put on a snowboard, much less buy lift tickets, rent gear, etc. Fortunately Schmittenhohe is idiot-proof. We were able to buy a superb private lesson right at the City Express Lift, get gear, tickets, etc. all under one roof. Pricey but worth it. After three days we could sort... More

Great ski area for the weekend or part of a week. Fantastic skiing piste side places to eat and drink. Parking area great if you're early. 8:30 gets you a nearby parking position to reduce trecking too far in ski boots.

We were here for six days in January and were fortunate to have good snow and perfect weather. The skiing was varied and there were slopes for all abilities. The skiing is not extensive and we had easily covered the whole system in two days, however, it is a good idea to buy a pass that enables you to ski... More

With 3 ski lifts to choose from, this is a good starting place for your ski journey. Clean, accessible and fast.

I ran forward to remove the skis ans sticks as it looked like he would be impaled on them. I helped him up. Then someone said why didn't you stop the escalator. So looked for the button which was tiny by the botttom of the escalator, and as I looked a technician restarted the escalator with a key before the... More

This was my first time on a ski/boarding holiday and was impressed with the slopes, although the blue runs did get busy. The views from the top are stunning and the lifts are good, although some are challenging for boarders. The restaurants serve really good food and plenty of it, although they are not cheap!!

This is so well organised the whole mountain is a delight to ski. I have never had to wait long for a lift or gondola and am so very impressed on the quality of the runs . The blue, red and black runs are well maintained and a delight for all abilities . Lots of places to stop and eat... More

A great alpine resort that has everything you need. Big area, where it never felt crowdy even if 2-4 minuts of waiting time some time. The Food and drinks are well overpriced. Wach out, The charge for everything upp here

Really good snow and weather all week. Plenty of great runs to ski. The black runs were easier than the reds as less people cut them up. Loads of ski huts to eat and drink in and can ski all the way into town.

Us as beginner boarders found this the perfect place to start from. You would need to get bus 71 from the bus station or the bus stop opposite the city xpress this is the only bus that will take u to the top. They run 10past or 20to the hour. From the top u can take 3 cable cars or... More
