We have been going skiing together for more than 10 years having all been friends for 50 years since University days. Ski standard and confidence varies a bit and at our age, not surprising to have accumulated a few injuries. However, in previous years and resorts, we have been able to have some variability in pistes skied yet still meet... More

I have just come back from skiing in Ischgl, and wanted to share a couple of points for anyone thinking about visiting Ischgl. On the surface Ischgl is a nice enough resort. It's hotels are very nice, clean and well kept and the high street also. The lift infrastructure is excellent with practically zero queues, and the pistes are very... More

Really happy having chosen Ischgl-Samnaun for travelling and skiing this year. The area is big enough that you never get bored. Heading down into Samnaun for a swiss lunch is definitely something everyone should do, and each of the various places we had lunch were good.

Ischgl had everything: a great ski area at high altitude, modern lifts, good restaurants and, above all, the best apres-ski in the world (at least if you are over 45 and have some cash to spend).

We went to Ischgl just before Christmas and unfortunately this December Austria had only a little bit of snow. Slopes had snow from last season and artificial snow, however the maintenance was pretty lame - a lot of icy patches especially at the end of each day. One day medical evacuation chopper flew four times to pick up injured people... More

We came to Ischgl in March 2017. The ski area is well developed with many lifts and runs, and one can ski on both the Austrian and the Swiss side, however, with respect to the Swiss side, better to ski there in the mornings rather than in the afternoon as then the area is shadowy without sun, which is blocked... Lovely long runs. Enough to keep an intermediate skier happy. Quite commercial in terms of restaurants etc. No real queues to speak of after 9 30am. Fast lifts. Well kept. Suitable for skiers and borders. Black runs good.

Having just come back from Ischgl today 11/03/2017 we found the ski area to be quite challenging. Having ski'd in numerous places including Austria we found the conditions here quite hard. some of the red runs were more like black and some of the blue were more like red. The place itself is lovely. On a nice day the lifts... More
