I was spending a few days in TWENTYNINE PALMS and saw they had a drive-in theater. It has been decades since I last went to a drive-in and was amazed that some still exist. Smith's Ranch Drive-In is a total blast from the past to the days when Drive-Ins ruled the world. I had to visit the drive-in even though... More

Went to the Smith's Ranch Drive-in. The line started a half hour before the gates opened. It was only $5 per person to get in. The concession price were very reasonable with lots of butter on the popcorn. The parking spots are nicely ramped for great viewing.

Went on friday night $5 to go in, great prices at the concession and a really neat Complimentary pen with a really bright little flash light on top. You get two films recent Releases with good screne quality and great Sound through your radio. We loved going Back in time it has been thirty years since we have had drive... More

Great place to take family and either sit in your car or back of your pick up trk and enjoy a movie. You will either have to tune in your radio or bring a boom box. A lot of fun, they have food or you can bring your own

We really enjoyed having a retro experience going to a drive-in movie. The sites are nicely angled facing the screen. U2 and your FM radio to a specific channel to get the sound through your car speakers. Only five dollars per person for the movie. They show two movies but we only stayed for the first one. The hotdogs were... More

I can't even remember the last time I went to a drive-in movie, so tonight was a real treat! We arrived on Sunday night, paid an insanely inexpensive admission of $5 per person and easily found a tilted parking spot to watch the movie. We took advantage of the concessions, with popcorn and hot dogs (rarely eaten but for the... More

$5 per person for two relatively new releases is insane value for money, and that's not even mentioning the increasingly rare charms of the drive-in experience. Staff are helpful and concessions are cheap. Only downside was the audio (coming via the car radio) had an irritating buzzing sound sometimes, but that may well have simply been a car fault.

I visited the Smith's Drive-in with my family and we all had a fantastic evening. The cost is $5 per person (over 3 years), for 2 movies. I was there in January and the theater opened at 6:30pm, and the movie started at 7pm. This is an old school 50's drive-in, that could be the background for any 80's horror/thriller... More
