Best to go to topside museum and overlook first. We took the fly in fly out tour. The flying views on the short flight were spectacular. Try for a sunny day. The arranged tour was excellent, including Hawaiian songs and chants. Very sad but immensely...More

We flew into the Kalaupapa Internation Airport and met our guide. Molokai is a beautiful island, with the tallest sea cliffs in the world. Looking over the cliffs is just awesome. Kalaupapa is an historical area that is also very lovely. This town has such...More

This is a must see experience! The mule ride is quite bumpy as there are 26 turns, all downhill but it is the steps they have put in for the hikers that make the ride not so comfy. However, very rich in history. Unfortunately, you...More

A little info to share. There are 3 ways down to the town. You can hire a mule group to ride the trail and a lunch along with a guided tour will be included. You can fly a small plane from top side to the...More

We bought a permit at Hotel Molokai and were told to find our "sponsor" resident (who was called and expecting us) once we got into town. The hike both ways was wet, slippery, and difficult (even though we are in shape). Once in the town,...More

This beautiful, isolate peninsula holds a dark history. Beginning in the mid-1800's sufferers of Hansen's disease (leprosy) who were mostly Hawaiian were banished to this natural prison. A few of the residents remain in the colony today. The park tells their stories of struggle and...More

Kalaupapa is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen; however, the tour was a disappointment. The tour was much shorter than I expected and the stops were limited. We were expecting the tour to last most of the day and to see...More

We received a guided tour throughout Kalaupapa and found the scenery and the abundant information very interesting. The cliffs are quite steep and can be slippery, but getting to Kalaupapa and the loookout are worth it.

We are so glad we chose this tour during our Maui visit. Our tour guide Norman was great and we learned a lot. The only improvement I would make on the tour is to add personal accounts of the people who were brought here whether...More

Fulfilled a life-long dream and was not disappointed. This is a pilgrimage site and should be treated as such. It will fill you with wonder at the human spirit and sadness at what fear can do.

damientoursllc is their website. They had a brand new bus when we did the tour in Sept 2016. We hiked in. The air conditioned bus was a welcomed site. There is only one flight service in. Not sure of the name but there... More

I will be visiting Molokai this coming Sunday Jan 8th. What company do you recommend? I'm just realizing you have to be very careful where you go when visiting this island and want to be respectful. I was planning to rent a car and drive around, but it seems the park can only be seen by tour group and I'm not able to handle an extensive hike.

There's an airstrip there, you can charter a plane. You must still be escorted around though.
