Kalaupapa is worth the effort or expense to get there. The history is very interesting and the views are amazing. It’s a tough hike—prepare well for it—but, it is beautiful!

We flew into Kalaupapa with Makani Kai Air from the island of Oahu. They handled all the visitor permits as well as the arrangements for the required guide to meet us at the very small Kalaupapa airport. Possibly the most important fact of the visit...More

Highly recommend touring Kalaupapa - fascinating and tragic piece of history. We called Father Damien Tours directly to book the tour and hiked down the trail. It took us 90 minutes to get down and a little bit longer on the way back up. The...More

We hiked down and met Father Damien Tours at the bottom. The hike is not so bad, just a bunch of stairs. The trailhead is easy to drive right by! Oddly enough, the trailhead is marked ' Palau state park.' We arrived a little before...More

What not to like hiking to the North Shore of Molokai! One must be prepared with plenty of water, good shoes and time to meet the tour group at 10am! Must take tour to visit park! Great story of humanity of love and compassion

We rode the mules down and back. A trip not for the faint of heart. The mules are sure footed and almost drive themselves. This park steps back in time and walks the visitor through Hansen's disease of the 19th and early 20th century. Two...More
