I have to admit I was a little nervous about the ride down when I first saw the online reviews. I haven't been in a saddle in over 25 years and I was concerned about that the narrow switchbacks and steep grade of the cliff....More

I am just back from a week in Honolulu, and made the time to do a "bucket list" check off by taking a day trip to Molokai. In checking what was available to get to Kalaupapa Valley and the former leper colony, I jumped at...More

This attraction is not for the faint of heart. Not knowing how to ride is okay, the mules do all the work, you just need to be able to sit without falling off. Our tour guides gave us a great rundown of safety rules and...More

I grew up hearing about the colony of Hansen disease patients on the wind swept peninsula of Kalaupapa, so I was grateful to learn that there was a way to visit. Descending the 1,700 foot steep sea cliffs was no problem on my sure-footed mule,...More

As others has said this is a good ride. We're in our 60's and had sore butts for two days. There are only about 10 mules going, so book early. It's closed on Sundays.

We arrived early for our day on the mules and were able to see the mule skinners preparing the various animals for the day. We enjoyed watching the animals be saddled and visiting with the young men as they worked. Micah came out and gave...More

A once in a lifetime experience! The staff were helpful and reassuring, but the star of the show was my mule Tita! She was a beautiful, strong, good natured beast who took a very nervous person, me, on her back and carried me all the...More

As someone who has never ridden a horse before, let alone a mule - I was a bit hesitant going into the experience. However, once I learned to trust my mule - I had an excellent time. You can't beat the incredible view you get...More

The ride was a great adventure. But something that happened on the way back up left me very upset as well as others on the ride. One of the guides (Micha) stopped and took a baby goat from its family. These goats roam free around...More

Hi everyone--how did you get to Molokai for this tour? I see that Lahaina-Molokai ferry service was terminated in October 2016, and the earliest arrival I can find for a Hawaiian Airline flights from Maui (OGG) to Molokai is after 11 a.m. (and the tour starts at 7:45 am!). We are staying in Maui (Lahaina and then Wailea). Any tips would be great--we REALLY want to do this mule tour!

We flew Mokulele from Maui (main airport) to Molokai but it was very early in the morning. Little Cessna we were the only passengers. I think it was $50 per person one way. Good luck.. mule ride was fantastic!!

I'm coming to the island and the intent is to visit park ( still scared of mule ride, but as a solo traveler they can't guarantee a fly in/out experience)...the other issues are all cars are sold out. Does anyone have suggestions?
