This ride is fantastic but not for the faint of heart! The trail is narrow, rocky and steep. Some of the people on my ride had very limited (or no) riding experience and were quite shaken up by the trip down. I have ridden all...More

This is NOT for the faint of heart. Even experienced riders will find this ride challenging, but it's so worth it. Lean back, hold on, and let your mule do what he does. The ride down is STEEP! There are crazy turns (26 switchbacks) and...More

This mule ride is a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Michelle and Dusty, guides of the mule ride, led our group of 5 from the top of the pali down 26 switchbacks for 3-1/2 miles to Kalaupapa and back up again. Dusty played his ukulele and sang Hawaiian...More

This one of the highlights of our two week return trip to the islands. Brandi and family do an excellent job of teaching and entertaining. The mules were great. The views breath taking. The tour of the colony was historical, heart breaking but inspirational.

Great company - the owners check you in, "tell story" and have everything taken care of. The horse guides (2 young men for 7 of us riders) were beyond fabulous in so many ways. This tour is not for the faint of heart and I...More

This mule ride is scary and fun at the same time. The mules know where to go and need little direction from you. On the way down, hold on. Felt like I was going over the side more then once, but I made it down....More

The mule ride is worth doing for the experience. The views were stunning. The ride is definitely for someone who is younger and not of the faint of heart. The mule ride was uncomfortable, especially on the downslope. And it is a continuous downslope. It...More

While I did the mule ride my husband took the van tour by himself. No one else had signed up so we opted to have him pay for two and just go by himself. Found the 1:1 experience to be worth the extra cost and otherwise he... More
