Nice little park to have a snack

Nice tide pools to check out. Seems like a good place for kids, but watch for glass. Not a large beach until you hike back along the trail. That leads to the nice beach if you... read more

We found this beach on our first day of exploration. As with many of Hawaii's beaches, it is very out-of-the-way. There was a shelter house with no facilities. A few places to wade. Rocky otherwise.

Nice tide pools to check out. Seems like a good place for kids, but watch for glass. Not a large beach until you hike back along the trail. That leads to the nice beach if you want privacy. Pretty spot.

Off the beaten path, with a windy drive down the hillside and a 20 minute hike along the coast, you find a beautiful and isolated black sand beach with a glimpse into local Hawaiian life.

This place is a mixture of old and new Hawaii and you can tell where you are. The older part is old Hawaii and feels a little like being on the rez. The beach is perfect for small children but the drive to get there is steep and with no water it may not be ideal. It is off the... More

We stayed in this area in a VRBO rental. Great ocean views and sunsets, quiet. If you're trying to get away from the city, this is a great place to be. It is FAR from Kona--about an hour drive--but gave us good access to the south island beaches and Volcanoes NP. The small fishing village at Miloli'i doesn't have much... More

Renting a Vacation Rental in Miloli'i is definitely AWAY from most civilization. It's beautiful, peaceful and generally perfect weather. The drive to 2 step or South Point is very short.

please understand this is a very Hawaiian village. Do NOT go here on the weekends as you will be outsiders there is a 20-25 min walk from the beach park (head south) past the last house on the Left next to the Church. keep walking until you get to the black sand beach. take water with you as its VERY... Great diving at Miloli'i. To the north into Papa Bay or towards the south lots of great dives, fish, sharks, eels, coral and rock formations to see everywhere. Park at the parking lot towards the north end. Follow the boardwalk pathway down the rocks to the ladder.

If you want an adventure while visiting the Big Island of Hawaii stay in Milolii Hawaii for a few days. The people are very nice and the beauty of the Pacific Ocean is seen from every home in the community. When you first arrive it can be startling!! If you're brave enough to venture down the steeply declined road to Milioli I promise you will be thinking what world have I landed in? A community directly on the water, offering many affordable ocean front homes, travel to the left all the way back to little church and small state park to find locals fishing and cooking out, kids...
