Mountain Thunder has some of the best coffee on the islands, and is definitely one of my personal favorites. The free tour is short and sweet, and provides lots of information on the process of making coffee and differences in beans. I like it because...More

This place was purchases out of bankruptcy and has a new owner. Nice upgrades, same old coffee tour, essentially the production line once the coffee gets to the mill. For the other part of coffee production, bush to mill, go to Tommy Greenwell's tour in...More

We stopped here and did the free group tour. We're not coffee lovers but the tour was really interesting and the guide was enthusiastic. We got to try some samples of the coffee and there was a great little shop. The only thing missing from...More

We enjoyed a really nice and educational tour here. We've toured coffee farms before and left with a lot of new information! The tour guide was friendly and welcomed questions. The gift shop is lovely. We shipped a bunch of delicious coffee back to the...More

Had a wonderful in-depth, free (!) tour of their whole picking to roasting process. Free samples with explanations of the difference of each coffee. Great activity for anyone that likes coffee or just likes seeing how things are made! Must do!

The free tour is pretty basic, but just fine for us. They have other (paid, self-guided) options that were beyond what we really wanted. Having said that, we learned a ton on the basic tour. It was super informative, especially regarding the uniqueness of Kona...More

We took the free tour which is every hour on the hour I believe (there is also a longer paid tour available). Our guide was the charming and knowledgeable Sam and she really did know her stuff and involved the audience asking us to guess...More

Visited the plantation with our granddaughter in a stroller. Tour was informative and short. Many types of coffees to sample, and of course, buy. Coffees are a little cheaper than at the grocery store but not much. Still, a nice couple of hours.

We arrived on a nice sunny a.m. The short tour was just starting. The tour guide was very articulate and knowledgeable about the coffee at Mountain Thunder. We enjoyed the tasting of their different brews and selected one to take home.

The plantation is cute but definitely not worth the price of a cap. The tour is short and they do not take you into the coffee fields. You would be spending your money to get to the gift shop and you can buy coffee almost... More

Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation's ownership changed in April of 2017. The previous owner has no connection to the farm. Mountain Thunder coffee is available at the farm and online at Mountain Thunder's website.

Yes, you will find the same great quality Mountain Thunder coffee coming from the farm and processing facility. The ownership did change, but most of the other elements of the farm and facilities are the same, though some... More
