I want this beach to be more than average, but it is small and crowded, being pretty much the only sandy beach on Ali'i drive. Good boogie boarding but it can be a bit unpredictable (look up why it's called 'Magic Sands') and can have...More

We drove by this beach several times and the beach had really been washed out, that's why its called Magic Beach after all. Lots of people still going to it, with lots of the Alia Dr. Rd car parking on both sides. It must be...More

We visited Magic Sands beach because of it's convenient location. Our AirBnb is south of Kona, in Kailua-Kona (off Kamehameha III and Ali'i). Luckily when we went there was a ton of sand. In speaking with a retiree who visits frequently, he said the sand...More

In addition to a great beach, this is a great spot to boogie board. If you don't boogie board, you will have fun watching others.

There’s a reason why locals refer to this beach as tragic slams and the lifeguard when off duty reminds you of the emergency number to call if needed. Nevertheless, there we no tragedy’s when we were there, but the tons of people aged from toddler...More

Great sandy beach. Very close to downtown. Get there early for a great spot. Nice spot to relax, swim or boogie board.

We stayed near here for a week and visited 3 times--great little soft white sand beach to stop at on your way home from the beach! The kids loved the swimming, boogie boarding and wave jumping. It gets pretty crowded and sometimes the waves were...More
