Formerly known as Big Island Country Club. Since the day the course opened to rave reviews in 1997, it has been on the "must play" list of the golfing visitor to Hawaii's Big Island. That's not only because of its spectacular location and scenic beauty, but equally because of its well-deserved reputation as a course that welcomes both the novice player as well as the low-handicap expert. The course is simultaneously enjoyable yet challenging, and is designed for every level of playing ability. Designed by famed golf course architect Perry Dye, son of Pete Dye, the par 72 course has all the popular attributes and interesting features that make his layouts so popular to golfers of varying skills: wide, gently rolling bermuda grass fairways, medium-size undulating Bent grass greens, and an abundance of water.

I'm a golfer who enjoys birding, and my friend is a nature-lover/photographer who enjoys golf, and Big Island Country Club was perfect for both of us. Aside from mangy tee boxes for the shorter hitters, the course condition was excellent, better than some of the...More

Although the course is a bit out of the way and some of the tee boxes were a little rough the layout has plenty for everyone. Driveable par four, some great views and water including island green on 17. Not a Mauna Lani or Mauna...More

We have golfed at nearly every place on the Big Island and this course is one of the best! Interesting layout from fairways to greens. A beautiful, relaxing, and challenging course. The course is a bit inland, but it is well worth the scenic drive...More

Value for the green fee. Wide open and challenging. Some rough edges however overall a good experience. No club house, yet to be built. Ice cold beer and reasonable prices. It's worth the drive.

Our party of four expected a little more for the $180 green fees and rental clubs. The rental clubs were very poor. The grips were worn and torn. They were rusted too. They would not give us a towel for the cart. That privilege is...More
