Like the octopus farm this is located on the grounds of the National Energy Lab near the Kona airport. Reservations required online or at their office. Tour last about 1 hour and cost $42. Staff lead you around thru areas with different tank containing sea horses of different stages of development. Their aim here is to raise these animals for... More

Great tour and guides, very informative. You have to try the seaweed, not bad a little salty of course. If you buy a sea horse, plan on spending about $200 USD.

This is an expensive tour, but worth it to us. Highly interesting to understand what they are doing and how they are raising seahorses. It's highly technical. The tour takes you through several areas, you see several types of seahorses and at the end you get to play with them and let them latch on to you.

We decided to take a look at this place because we love sea horses. It was very informative and there are a lot of sea horses here. It's a good place to learn about their life cycle and view the various species, however their statistical information isn't quite accurate. They're pushing an environmental message, which we get, but when you... More

I really enjoyed this fascinating marine biology exhibit. The guide was excellent and I learned a tremendous amount of info about this little known creature. It was interesting to hear about the seahorse population and how they are helping our environment. Tours last for an hour and cost is a little pricey at 42 bucks. Location is only 5 minutes from... More

You get to hold a seahorse! Enough said, really, but this place is helping out the sea horses in the ocean and providing an educational experience on the Lives of Seahorses. They also have a couple of Sea Dragons! They are apparently expanding so hopefully one day we can see all the varieties of seahorses they have, but we did... More

So much fun for everyone. Nice explanation of what they do and how they raise the sea horses. Small gift shop with cute gifts. You get to feed and hold the sea horses and they will even ship the sea horses to you if you want to buy them them.

If you are at all curious about these little guys, you need to see this. You can place your hand in the water and they will hold onto your finger with their tales. It was a moving experience to say the least.

We received a recommendation from a couple on our plane to go to the seahorse farm and were really glad we did. First impression was that the facility isn't a polished "in it for the money" sort of place. This is a real place where the biologists are serious about protecting the native seahorse populations. They have a number of... More

It was so nice to see these beautiful creatures up close and even touch one. I appreciated how the staff was very attentive to us and the safety of the seahorses. Yes, the admission price and the prices in the gift shop are a bit high, but we figured that this was a donation to a good cause. We are... More
