Wonderful Alaskan history

The care, feeding and use of totems. Very fascinating presentation. Wonderful carvings, their history and ties to the tribes.

This place has some exhibition of the Alaskan Nature. Also, the lake near the center has glaciers floating around. The air is very fresh, and you can put your feet into the cold water to feel the glaciers.

Including its very own little iceberg on the day we were there, this center will give you information about the astonishing Chugach Moutain area, Turnagain Arm (one of America's most beautiful drives, which takes all day! You'll never want it to end!). The center is also located at a lovely scenic spot in a bay, with the mountains all around.

Intimate little museum, helpful staff, great video, circa 1930's about Alaska Nellie. Worth the visit!
