I booked 2 mountain bike rides with Karl (Seward Adventure Co). 1 was the half day Iditarod Trail, the other was the full day Johnson Pass trial. Both went great. Karl was an excellent guide. He was very well informed about local wildlife, history, culture, and cuisine. He was very patient with the folks that have never been mountain biking... More

Karl was prompt to pick us up at our hotel. He was friendly and informative about Seward and Alaska. It was just my husband and I, mid 30's for a rainy morning beach ride. He provided waters, helmets, and safety instructions. He also carried bear spray which was reassuring. The bikes were surprisingly sturdy on rocks, sand, and water. We... More

We did a half day of riding out at Johnson Falls with Karl and it was a blast! It was a challenging ride, especially with unfamiliar bikes, but an absolute blast. Karl was great to ride with and was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Our only regret was.not renting fat bikes which would have been perfect for the... More

This was a great sightseeing adventure on a mountain bike, this is not a long strenuous ride but a great way to get a few more miles in beautiful conditions you would not normally walk in. We met in Seward and our guide Karl fit us up with bikes at the trailhead after a short drive. We rode thru streams,... More

Karl was an incredible & patient guide!! He was extremely knowledgeable of the terrain & gave me a true mountain bike ride!! Since I was without a vehicle, Karl picked me up at my hotel with all the equipment (bike, helmet, water), including the perfect weather!! This was one of the coolest things I did while on my trip!! Thanks... More

This was probably the most strenuous thing I've done in a long time but I don't regret it for a second. Despite requiring breaks to catch my breath (Karl was SUPER patient), we rode through streams, past eagles, salmon, and bear tracks, through bushes, and to a black sand beach and back. The scenery was exhilarating. The colors of the... More

Karl brought us on a wonderful single track ride on the Johnson's Pass trail. He went above and beyond to work with us when one of our party was too sick to make the ride on our original scheduled day. The trail was a really fun variation of climbs and descents! Karl stopped at a few scenic views on the... More

I went for a spectacular winter beach ride with Karl today on his Phat Tire Bikes! The snowy mountains, the blue sky, and the spectacular ocean views were enough to make anyone smile... but charging across streams, cruising over frozen beach grass, and navigating across the intertidal mud and rocks- that is what made for a truly fantastic ride. If... More

We booked Karl for a 'Summer - Guided Low Tide Ride' and couldn't be happier. My brother and parents (in their 50s) have some experience in riding traditional mountain bikes, but the fat tires made it a breeze. We didn't deal with any particularly difficult terrain or obstacles, but the bikes were perfect (originally built by Karl, as I understand)... More
