Nice place for outdoor activities

Kennesaw Mountain is not really a big park but it is a nice place for a little hike or walk and for jogging. You also have a pretty good view on Atlanta from the top.

I love Georgia Parks. They are usually beautiful, full of wildlife and clean and this park certainly fits the bill. The trails are lined with tall trees providing a perfect shade from the sun. There is also plenty of parking available at no cost. The trails in this park is wonderful, and it's a historic sight too! The loop pretty... More

We made a quick stop at the visitors' centre and took an interesting tour of the museum with a very personable guide. We drove to Cheatham Hill, which was all we had time for, but we wished we had been able to climb up Kennesaw Mountain and walk some of the trails. It is a beautiful area.

Love the outdoors and this park comes with some great history and a fairly challenging hike up the mountain. There are several trails to choose from ranging in difficulty. Don't miss the visitors center, they had a great ammo demonstration where they fired live cannons! Can get crowded during peak times.

Enjoying spending time on this mountain. It was the week before we sent our son off to his first year of college. The 8 mile give us a lot of time together before he left.

We visited here as a family to enjoy nature and do a little hiking. Finding the center was not as clear as I would like but we found it with help from the internet. There were many picnic tables to enjoy lunch under the trees and well marked trails of varying difficulty (we took the easy 1 mile trail through... More

Kennesaw National Battlefield Park preserves the Civil War battleground of the Atlanta Campaign. Most of the people there were for hiking and exercise, I was amazed. Parking was difficult because of it. The visitor center was mostly empty except people using the restrooms. On specific days in the fall the road to the top of the mountain is open to... More

The Kennesaw Mountain Civil War park is one of those rare places one can hike and relax, while inside an enclave surrounded by heavily developed suburban communities. The park preserves the Civil War battleground of the Atlanta Campaign. fought between June 19, 1864 until July 2, 1864. Northern Gen. Sherman's had 100,000 men, 254 cannons and 35,000 horses. Gen. Johnson... More
