Kennesaw's Battlefield Park is a "winner" for history buffs! But also a great opportunity for casual walks or much more challenging hikes! This Park is family and pet friendly ...just keep the leash and clean up items handy. Picnicking area and parking are available. "Locals" and Visitors utilize the Park but it doesn't feel "over-run."

I grew up in the shadow of Kennesaw Mountain in the late 50s and early 60s, moved away and find myself again living in its shadow 50 years later. The mountain is now a peaceful reminder of a war that encompassed the area many, many years ago. Walking trails and fields of grass surround the mountain and adults and children... More

The whole area is incredibly beautiful with plenty of people to make you feel safe. Great place to run up old 41 to the mountain. So many wonderful trails with beautiful spots to see the city. One of the best kept secrets in Kennesaw it's ideal for kids walking your dogs and just enjoying a run on the many trails... More

So many wonderful trails with beautiful spots to see the city. One of the best kept secrets in Kennesaw it's ideal for kids walking your dogs and just enjoying a run on the many trails around the mountain. Stop in the visitors center off old 41 and get a map. Our family did the mountain trail and walked up the 1800' high peak in a mile walk. It is very steep but we were rewarded for our efforts with a wonderful view of Atlanta and the beginning of the Blue Ridge mountain range. There are cannons and displays explaining the monutain's place in civil war history and There is a... More

there's always a good hike to have here. But don't get stuck on just hiking the mountain, there are plenty of other trails to hike and just as much history.

This was a great place to stop and let the kids run around for a while. Lots of trails to explore. Be aware that parking is a nightmare, as the locals use this as more of a recreational park than a historic park. That being said, since it is so well-used the trail system is extensive and well-maintained.

Made a day trip to Kennesaw Mountain National Park. Worked with my son on the Junior Ranger Program. Great video about the battle in the visitor center and wonderful little museum. Also took a short hike up the mountain. Like stated in other post there are a lot of people using the area for walking. Look past that and you... More

The movie shown in the museum depicted the battles of the area very well. The grounds are wonderfully preserved and it is sobering to think of the battles that were fought in the area.

Me n my friends go on the weekends for the Kennesaw mountain trek. It's pretty steep. Wouldn't recommend for old people. It's less crowded in the early mornings.
