The railway is - if you're a railway fan - one of the most scenic one I've ever seen. Book the Fraser Meadows Steam excursion, that's the one with the great steam engine... The ride was spectacular nevertheless there where some issues. If you pay...More

The views were amazing and on board guide was very informative. Price was $130.95 for 2 adults through our cruise company which I reckon was expensive. Could have booked when we got here but with 4 cruise ships docked, availability may have been tight.

We took the bus to Carcross and had a delightful guide/driver named Ann. She had lots of interesting facts about the area and territory. She took time to let you take photos on the way to Carcross and was very patient with questions. Once we...More

We boarded the WP&YR directly from our cruise boat. How convenient is that!?! The train staff was very friendly and informative and the commentary was spot on. It was a very comfortable ride up to White Pass and back and, of course, the scenery, was...More

I enjoy taking scenic railway and historic railway tours. This narrow gauge railroad follows a century old path from the Skagway harbor or downtown Skagway very high into the mountains, over trestles, through tunnels and into the Canadian Yukon Territory. The one downside is fog....More

Great Very Scenic bus ride first. The driver and guide was very amusing and told us good many jokes. Very humorous stories. On the return we took railway. Not very luxurious but comfortable enough for couple of hours. Recommended.

There seem to be several companies that run tours through White Pass. We went with Chilcoot and they were great. Our bus driver, Jamison was first class. The first part of the tour is a bus through Skagway to the train station. The train takes...More

Excursion from cruise. Train was well narrated and informative. Views were spectacular. You were in Canada to switch to the bus, a royal pain. Had to have passport out and no time to enjoy the lake we were at. The guide on our bus was...More

We took the afternoon train up White Pass. The guides on the train gave a great narrative along the way of what we were seeing and the history of the thousands who went up the pass on foot with 2,000 pounds of provisions. If you...More

No, take your own. It is only about 2 hours ... probably don't need snacks.

Hi, John. What would you like to know about this attraction? We'll be arriving by cruise ship. Does it matter whether I buy Whitepass & Yukon tickets as a shore excursion from the ship company, or buy them directly from the railroad? I think the cost difference is about $8.

We found the afternoon was better as the fog had lifted. Train was busy no matter what time you went. It depends on how many cruise ships are in port that day.
