We were here on a cruise and I wanted to get out and experience the local area. This was a warmup hike for us, because we planned to tackle Lower Dewey Lake next. This hike was very scenic and peaceful. The trail to Smuggler's Cove is a bit more rugged, but still very easy if you take your time. Smuggler's... More

A nice, easy hike, 1 hour round trip. You have to walk by the airport and cross a bridge to get to the start of the hike. A pleasant stroll. You can extend it and walk to Smuggler's cove and back in 30 minutes - highly recommend it. When we went, it was quiet and serene, and low clouds made... More

Just a short hike from town. Generally flat. Was nice to climb out onto the rocks. Got some great photos as it was a clear day.

We went for a late afternoon hike here. It was very windy but once we got to the point we were rewarded with some awesome views and rock formations which we enjoyed climbing on. There is even a cave nearby if you hike about 50 meters further.

We didn't book any excursions in Skagway. We joined a walking tour with a Park Ranger and took our time walking downtown Skagway. This hike was recommended by the Park Ranger in the Klondike Museum. It's a very scenic hike once you're past the airport area and at the footbridge. It's very easy and not too crowded. You get rewarded... More

This spot can be tricky to find if you or someone you know hasn't been, but don't miss it. You can go sit on the rocks and drink a beer in pristine nature. Breathtaking.

This is a fun easy hike to quickly get out of the Skagway retail madness. The trail was well maintained and it was not steep. It follows the edge of a peninsula through wooded areas and you have frequent views of the bay. There are a few picnic tables along the way. There are no services along the trail so... More

This is a easy little jot from where the cruise ships dock. Leave the ship, walk past the airport and over the little metal bridge. There is a path with a little workout equipment, just follow it around. You'll see signs. Smuggler's Cove is beautiful and easy to get to. You don't have to have your hiking shoes on :)

This is a very easy hike from Skagway. It is quiet, serene and beautiful. We saw a few people along the way but it was not over-crowded at all. I highly recommend this hike if you have a couple of hours to kill in Skagway.

This is hardly hard enough to be called a hike. It is a pretty easy walk to see a great view of the harbor and city of Skagway. Smuggler's cove is just another half mile out. Harder hike, less of a view of the city, but both worth the hiike.
