This park is a favorite for a trail run, a family hike, or a trip to the beach. I love that if I only have an hour in the middle of my day I can still get a great workout, be surrounded by trees, and get epic views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains.

Variety of different settings, from grassland to forest to shoreline. It's a large, pleasant place for a day hike, and really nice place to spend a sunny day!

We took the Loop Trail down to the lighthouse and it was beautiful. The park has great trails for walking and trails for beach access. We caught the park on a rare, clear day.

My daughter and I had a very enjoyable afternoon in the park. Nice, relatively easy, hike down to the beach. Got to see a nice eagle. Beautiful forest. Great shoreline for a walk.

There is a Native American Cultural Center in Discovery Park. In July, there is an amazing Pow Wow in the park near the center. This is a must see if you are in the area. In 2017, it will take place July 14 to 16.

This was my favorite place in Seattle because of the wide open hardly anyone in sight experience I had nearly every time I visited. There are huge fields of blue delphinium among the grasses which make you want to run like a kid...not just jog.
