Incredible views of Seattle - if the visibility is good, it's well worth a trip to the top to take in the view.

Sky view observatory is taller and cheaper than the space needle. If you are debating between Space Needle and Sky View Observatory, I will say go to the Sky View Observatory. Space Needle has an outdoor area, and it revolves. The observatory is stationary and indoor, but it is cheaper, and you have a better view!

This is a great alternative to the Space Needle. It is cheaper, newer and in the center of downtown. We were lucky to be visiting on a rare clear and sunny day in February and the views were spectacular.

As suggested by others a cheaper and higher view than the space needle. Also has the added benefit of having the needle in the landscape

Beautiful views of the city, particularly at sunset. The admission is $14.75 for an adult (student and military discounts available) and it is well worth it- particularly since you can come back throughout the same day, provided you still have the stamp on your hand, until they close at 8.

You're on the 73rd floor of the tallest building in Seattle and the views are unbelievable. The only thing better is if you can get a friend who belongs to the Tower Club to get you to the 75th floor!

Excellent views of Seattle. On a clear day, you can see the impressive mountains. If you go into the restaurant, be sure to walk upstairs to the restrooms. The views from the toilet (I kid you not) are memorable.

The views at the top of the Columbia Center were beautiful. You could see almost all the way around the building, so you could see everything from the football stadium to various mountain ranges, to the city below. You can only view from inside the building though, so you can't see straight down, and sometimes the glare made things hard... More

You need to go in the Space Needle if you are going to Seattle. Just check the weather before going and do the online reservation. Or you might have to wait a long time before taking the elevator.

The view from Sky View was remarkable! If I had to choose between this one and the Needle, Sky View wins, hands down!
