Sand Point Magnuson Park is a beautiful park. Most people would see it as nothing more than a park. For me, it was a trip back in time to Sand Point Naval Air Station. This is where my father served most of his time during World War 2. There is a memorial where there are aircraft wings extending out of... More

This is one of my favorite parks in Seattle. It's very large and located along Lake Washington. If you have a dogs, this is the place to bring them so they can run off leash. There is even a beach where they can go swimming. Highly recommend a visit

I have been going to Magnuson Park for years for a random assortment of events and activities. Mostly, I bring my dog to the dog park which has a huge dirt field, various paths, a little beach, seperate areas for small dogs and plenty of fellow dog obsessed Seattleites. I have also attended fundraising events, BBQ's at the grills overlooking... More

This is a great multi-use park with something for everyone. Originally a military base located on the shores of Lake Washington, there are fields for many different sports, a boat launch, fishing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, a nature walk complete with wetlands, one of the largest dog runs in the city and much more. The old aircraft hangers get lots of... More

This is a wonderful place to take your dog(s) for exercise, swimming, and great views for the human. The park is laid out so that despite the volume of dogs that use the park there still seems to be ample space for everyone. The walk down to the lake is my favorite- the dogs can swim in Lake Washington throughout... More

This is the site of the former Naval Air Station Sand Point or as it was formally designated, NAS Seattle. From this site in 1924, four United States Army Air Service Douglas World Cruisers equipped with pontoons and wheels took off for the first around the world flight. The four planes took off from Lake Washington on April 6, 1924... More

We stopped for a brief visit to the Magnusen Dog Park --- so much space! Several different areas, with one for small dogs too. It was a great place for our dog to get some exercise and meet some new friends.

This park is great. It has trails and trees and shade but best of all it has a beach and the dog can swim! There were trees to climb to entertain the kids as well! All of the dogs seemed really well behaved and the owners all picked up after their pets really well so no stinky smell. Remember to... More
