The Nutcracker, that beloved uniquely Seattle rendition by Stowell/Sendak that you loved? That Nutcracker is gone, replaced by a sad watered down kids recital that you can find in any small town community theater. It's awful. It consists of boring choreography, a bunch of kids running around the stage and not much dancing. The sets are pretty but this version... More

If you have not visited McCaw Hall and seen the Nutcracker recently you Are missing a fabulous event! The show is beautifully staged, the colors are amazing and the dancers are fabulous ! I would love to see this show twice in one season as It is such a thrill . We attended for the 23rd year, each time bringing... More

Pacific Northwest Ballet Company is first-rate, but their rendition of the Nutcracker is more a ballet school recital than a professional performance. Children perform more numbers than the company pros. For kids, they are good, but I do not go to the ballet to watch 100 children dance for their relatives. Want to enjoy an evening of talented company performers?... More

I raised 5 boys and, finally, 15 years ago, a granddaughter to take to the ballet (couldn't talk my boys into it, although there are many boys who attend). My 15-year old granddaughter has been attending the PNB Nutcracker with me since she was two, we loved the Maurice Sendak Nutcracker and were so afraid when the production was changed... More

I am a season ticket holder and could not be happier. Every performance is a feast for the eyes. I love how they always surprise the audience by being innovative, using humor, and making bold choices with choreographers. There is something for all tastes. My favorite is Romeo and Juliette. The dance and music tell the story with emotion and... More

The PNB is a world class ballet in which the music becomes a visual as well as an auditory experience. PNB provides supports for your their youngest ballet-goers: easy to manage seat cushion to give the little people some height, hands on activities related to the ballet prior to the curtain. There is no joy greater than to share the... More

I took my granddaughter to PNB's Le Corsaire which is a pirate story for kids. Everything about it was great. There were activities in the lobby including musicians that allowed children to try the instruments and now she wants to learn the harp. The dancing was outstanding as were the costumes. We sat in a box which made for great... More

We've been to several performances at PNB and enjoyed each one. One performance in fact, will stick with me for the rest of my life - a stunning work by a new student choreographer done to the music of Olafur Arnalds (Film Credits and Fyrsta). Wow! The dancers and company are dedicated and wonderful. The school was a great place... More
