The Washington State Ferries, both the short and the longer crossings offer a beautiful view of the sea, and if you are lucky you may spot a bobbing sea creature or two. They are a convenient mode of transportation that is totally enjoyable.

We took a total of 4 ferries driving around the greater Seattle area and the San Juan Islands. Loved traveling by ferry.

Very reasonable fare for round trip to Bainbridge. The views of the Seattle skyline are spectacular! Ferries left on time and had great concessions on board. We had a great day in Bainbridge!

Took the ferry to Bainbridge Island late afternoon, and enjoyed a beautiful trip across the water. Comfortable inside seating, and outdoor sun deck. Food and drink available for the 30 minute ride. Bikes and cars allowed.

What trip to Seattle would be complete without a ferry ride? Even if you only have time to take one over ‘somewhere’ and one back, do It. This time we rode to Bainbridge and had the opportunity to stay there two nights. But, if we...More

On long weekends the Washington State ferries have extra long lines so plan to wait. A lot of city people escape to weekend houses and hikes.
