Great plaza near the Bridge Restaurant and Alaska Geographic. Its a cool place to hang out and watch the urban fishery where (when in season) giant king salmon are caught. The Ship Creek Trail also connects to Mountain View to the east. Lots of fun here.

I walked along Ship Creek Walkway past the industrial area and over a few bridges ,very interesting area but not really a mainstream tourist attraction.

This place is located about 5 minutes from the Ulu factory and a great place to see salmon goin up stream in the peak season. Unfortunately when l was there l only saw some ducks. You can walk across the river to the other side from here.

We visited on a morning in August; there apparently were no fish really running, or at least we didn't see any. There were a few fisherman around but didn't seem to be much action. Ship Creek is a waterway that runs next to downtown Anchorage. Apparently at some times of year it is crowded with salmon and fishermen, which might... More

Unfortunately the fish were not running. The area is great for a walk and for picture taking. From the bridge you can see the fish ladder too.

If you are just in anchorage for the day, stop and see it but you would be better off renting a car and drive not too far out of the city. If you want to see a lot of salmon and incredible scenery on the way, drive to Williwaw Fish Viewing Platform on Portage Glacier Road... We saw hundreds! And... More

Drove by here on our private city tour, it was okay to see. Unfortunately, we did not see any salmon or fisherman.

Oldest part of tow. Nice trails. If you want to view salmon. There is a hatchery at the far end of the river. It's free and you can vie salmon swimming up stream. Kings and silvers. It's a amazing to See salmon jump the waterfall. To their migratory home. Stay off the mud in river. Maybe U.K. Factory and the... More

Our tourist bus dropped us at Ship Creek for half an hour for a tour and for the first 10 minutes, it was interesting but later, it was just boring. This is semi-industrial area where people are fishing and that's it. If you are lucky you can see one or two salmons who are trying to move against the current... More

Again, nothing much to see here. Reasonably nice walk when walking for walking sake. But the lower part is just a big mud flat and as you go upstream nothing to see. Not even any salmon!
