We went during the winter so the train was not too crowded. We rode from Fairbanks to Anchorage and the ride was beautiful. We had time to relax and read. Announcements were made when we were about to come up on something interesting and the conductor did slow when wildlife was spotted. The meals were okay and taking pictures from... More

We went from Anchorage to Fairbanks, and what a great time. The train was comfortable, had excellent food and drink. You could get up and walk around and see other cars, grab a drink, or just stay comfy in one spot. Seeing the fall colors was awesome. This is a great way to travel the state.

We took the train from Talkeetna to Fairbanks. The 8-hour ride was so pleasant - breathtaking scenery, pleasant staff, and lunch/dinner available too! If you are not in a hurry, was a perfect way to see amazing scenery - on our trip, we were also fortunate to see Mt. Denali as was a very clear day. Enjoy the unscheduled stops... More

This is one of the most beautiful train rides. I went from Anchorage to Fairbanks. It was close to a 12 hour train journey but some of the scenery along the way was just breathtaking. I went in the end of March when there was still enough snow covering the mountains. The train stops in some parts just so that... More

We all had an incredible time during our last trip in March to Alaska. The winter train from Anchorage to Fairbanks was one of the many highlights of our trip. The snow-covered landscape is just marvellous. We counted 6 moose on our way between Anchorage and Denali Park. It would be really great if the train stops at Denali Park... More

The railroad is an excellent way to see a lot of Alaska. The state is 1/5 the size of the rest of the continental US, so to be able to see it all is really difficult. That is where the train comes into play. No matter where you go in Alaska, you are in the wild and it is beautiful.... More

Traveling along in the "dome" car, it was an awesome experience! I have ridden before, they have various excursions and any one of them is fun! There is so much to see and you can relax while doing it. The places the train can take you may surprise you! So much beautiful scenery and what a way to travel -... More

It was an amazing ride. We took the train to Fairbanks. The only way to travel. If we drove it would have taken over 8 hours and we would have been very tired. On the train, you sit back and relax. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can bring your food if you wish. We were hoping that the... More

These guys were great. Our trip was from Anchorage to Fairbanks in March. We ate well and there were lots of times to take photos. The train actually stops when there is something of photo value. Learned a lot and just enjoyed the view.

Went on the Alaska Artic Circle trip and loved everything about it. The train from Anchorage to Fairbanks was very well organised and the food was very good. Scenery was stunning. It's a 12 hr journey but well worth it. The Hotels are included and the drive to Coldfoot camp is fantastic. Coldfoot is described as "Rustic" and that is... More
