We took the train into this station from Seward as part of our 20-day Holland America Land and Sea package and then left the same way to Denali. We did not actually get to go into the building but loved the old train engine outside

We walked down to the depot but not much to see unless you are taking one of the trains down to coastal ports or on into the interior.

We took the train to Whittier and back. Nice double decker car with windows and skylights. Tour guides point out things to look for - glaciers, goats, moose and maybe even a beluga whale

Extremely convenient, clean and efficient facility allowing all types of travelers easy access from and to Anchorage. During the morning, the coffee bar and gift shop provide the necessary diversions while you wait to depart. Not a lot of seats, however, if you need to...More

This old train greets you at the Depot, but streamlined diesels will take you on an adventure. We took the Seward to Anchorage trip and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in Adventure Class, except for a group of Girl Scouts whose leader talked so loud we couldn't...More

I questioned whether I had overspent on Gold Star Service from Anchorage to Seward until we got on board. From the time we pulled out of Anchorage, the ability to see everything - moose, bear, eagles, glaciers, and majestic mountains - from our seats in...More

You NEED to ride the train, but even if you don't, this is a fun stop. They have a whole room full of a model Alaska Railroad, several exhibits, and a gift shop.

We took the train to the Spencer Whistle Stop in order to walk to the Spencer Glacier, where we were met by a Park Ranger and given a very informative and fun talk along the way. The train goes to Whittier and then back before...More

Alaska is loaded with places to visit. I recommend Denali National Park above all of them. Go early, beat the crowds, take a guided nature hike and definitely take the National Park Service Tundra Tour. You must buy tix in... More

There is a snack bar at the Depot but there are several restaurants in Downtown Anchorage that you could get breakfast at before you head to the train. Also, there are snacks available for purchase on the train. Hope this... More

These coupon books have many restrictions, we rarely use them unless the book itself is free and the coupon happens to fit our needs - that’s always a plus. I suggest that you not plan your trip around coupons.
