A nice short hike up to fantastic views of the city and surrounds. Not horribly difficult, rather gradual incline until the last bit. Recommended on a nice clear day.

Gorgeous views, be respectful of moose 525981786 Wonderful trails through wetlands and mountains, 15 minutes from Anchorage. There are plenty of moose in the area. If you're not experienced with them, maintain your distance to avoid being charged. Dress in layers- it may be warm...More

We enjoy this trail. Its not too challenging, but does require some effort. The view from the top is gorgeous. I have a quirky knee that I have to be careful with, but can do this trail. There are also easier, handicap accessible trails at...More

It's just 10 minutes from downtown Anchorage, and the scenery is beautiful on the drive. Take the shorter loop up Flattop Mountain or the longer one to the top. Remember to dress warm and take hats and mitts (Aug 31). There was ice on the...More

We joined the shuttle service provided by a bicycle rental company and climbed the mountain. The owner of the rental company drove us there. He was not a friendly guy and sometimes were rude. Before arriving the mountain he told us it should be very...More

Majestic views. A challenging but not difficult trail and climb for outstanding views of the area. Trails are clearly marked and nice kiosks.

This hike is not for the faint of heart. I was told it was a moderate hike but for 3 women nearing or over 60, it was a challenge...but well worth it. The trail is what I would call 'unimproved' and can be a bit...More

You can hike the first part of it, but I don't believe it would be safe to go to the top with any sort of child or baby backpack. The top is too steep and footing is unstable. Safety first! :-)
