If you're interesting in poking through small shops, go during the day, as many of them are closed by 6. The restaurant scene is active and varied, with lots of outdoor dining.

Easy walking to pop culture stores-Drastic Plastic has rock onesees-too cute. Courteous drivers patiently wait for you to cross the brick pavers. Lots of bums laying around. we saw one dropping something from the 4th floor in the library-cops right on it , shooed him out. Another just laying on the ground with 5 cop cars surrounding him, just watching... More

Most of the restaurants are on the pricer side and there's not a whole lots down there, coming from a bigger city. We did end up stopping at a Mexican restaurant called Roja that was having a good happy hour.

We ended up in this area to grab a local brew. We ended up at one brewery and then went to Upstream Brew Pub for dinner. There was lots of people in the area enjoying the nice weather and the many local restaurants.

Lots of good restaurants, small eateries and ice cream and candy stores.Unique gift stores and nearby Durham museum are fun to explore. Saturday morning farmers market is a fun place to stroll along and buy your fresh local grown veggies.

The Old Market was devastated by a fire in the building with M's Pub a couple years ago. The reconstruction/restoration of the historic building is nearly completed and the pub will be reopening later this year. There are still constructions barricades and parking is reduced but the area is still worth a visit. It's location near the Gene Leahey Mall... More

I have lived in Omaha a year, right downtown in the Old Market. It is a must visit if you come to Omaha. There is plenty of cool restaurants and shops during the day and plenty of nightlife as well in the evening. It is definitely the busiest and "most exciting" on the weekends and can be a little dead... More
