There is so much to see and learn at the ALPLM! We have been several times and I still learn something new. Give yourself several hours to really see it all.

This is a must see in Springfield. The history comes to life with videos. There are many artifacts and the civil war section is very good. We saw the exhibit on the Cardinal Cub rivalry which is very well done.

This was my 4th visit to the museum (3 as a school chaperone and this time for fun with my husband). I learn something new with each visit. Allow 3 to 3.5 hours to see and read everything. Look for the Lincoln penny in the terrazzo floor in the vestibule:)

The museum offers to short films that are very much worth seeing, as well as several well organized and presented areas of the museum highlighting different periods of Lincoln's life and legacy.

When you go look up name exactly, there is another Lincoln library in Springfield. This one is laid out well. Characters are realistic. Exhibits are educational. Also have a Cubs/Cardinal exhibit.

Very well done! We found ourselves very humbled. This is a great reflection on Lincoln's life and events surrounding it. Don't miss the opportunity - recommend everyone take the time to enjoy & see this very worthwhile historic collection. Kudos to the State of Illinois and the Springfield historic society that maintains this wonderful facility! Keep Our Countries history alive!

The life size statues in the rotunda area are so life-like, giving you a good idea of size of Lincoln. The docents were wonderful, don't miss talking to Frederick Douglass or Sojourne Truth! We only saw one of the two movies, and the log cabin and White House exibits are very informative.
