Not much to see. The caboose is not there to see. Skip this if time is short or if you are too tired to walk to it. Disappointing.

The Lincoln Museum and Lincoln Research Library sit next door, just across the street from the old, Springfield Train Depot. The old depot was in use until 1971. After the Lincoln Museum and Library sites were secured and building was started, the old depot underwent...More

When I went there it was very interesting and it showed artifacts and a lot of train history and it's a good place to go.

Mostly a law office now, this building on the main track was where Lincoln left home for Washington and where he gave his farewell to Springfield address. There are some exhibits on the first floor and if you are a rail buff, it's worth seeing...More

Get a quick looknat where Lincoln said goodbye to the people of Springfield as he left for the White House. It is near other Lincoln attractions and you can easily drive by or park and visit. Free of charge.

I visited the great western depot, site where Lincoln spoke before departing Springfield. The Depot is a small self guided tour and the building is cared for by a law firm in the building. If you are a Lincoln fan this is a must see.

We were dissapointed in this attraction, we had to pay to get in and not anything to see! Would not recommend this.

Nice collection of information, and standing next to the tracks gave me a bit of a chill imagining the scene. Our second-favorite of the Lincoln sites after the Lincoln Home (but the Museum was the most informative).

Downtown Springfield has many Lincoln attractions, and this old train station is one of them. It is wonderful that historical places which Mr. Lincoln frequented such as this depot, are still standing.
