One of the highlights of my Iceland holiday. You can get up real close and feel the negative ions emanating from the falls. The whole place is terrific with great walks in the area for the more adventurous.
This is the classical example of a large, impressive waterfall with a deep drop. The parking area is about 1/4 - 1/3 mile from the site. The walk on a rainy, cold, windy day is daunting and not much fun. Thank goodness, the surface is...More
Skógafoss is a beautiful waterfalls; and the path leading to the base of it was an easy walk. Looking up, at the top of the falls, I could really get a feel for its almost 200' drop.

We went about 10 am and it was quite crowded. What a powerful waterfall though. Wear your rain gear and get close. Less people the closer you get. Lol. Seeing all that water come down in such force is like a wall of water. It's...More

Hello there. There is no overnight parking on Skogáfoss. There are signs everywhere that warn you parking after 7:00PM is prohibited. There are, however, a campsite and a hotel in the vicinity, just minutes away from the waterfall. The campsite is about 1500kr. and the hotel rates change depending on the season. Hope this information helps.
